Enter Heather Reid, one of Outline Financial’s Underwriters and Client Care Specialists.  Heather spent nearly 25 years in the banking industry working for TD Canada Trust and Scotiabank where she won several awards for her volunteer efforts and service excellence.  It was during that time that she not only gained a detailed understanding of the mortgage industry and the constantly-evolving suite of products at her disposal, but also developed a passion for customer service.  She built trust by offering straightforward, honest advice—tips that still underpin the advice she provides to clients today: “Buy within your means, and make sure your payments are sustainable without making you house-poor,” she offers. “And maybe most importantly, make sure you and your family are covered in case of an emergency or life change.”

In Heather’s view, joining Outline Financial was a natural progression from her career in the banking sector.  She leverages the important client-relation skills built over nearly a quarter century of service to help our customers define and achieve their financial goals.  Heather attributes much of that client-friendly approach to her extensive volunteer experience. “As a volunteer, there is a major emphasis on customer service and interaction,” she explains. “You also need to have a genuine desire to help people, which is something I’m very passionate about.”

Here’s what you may not know about Heather: Heather loves to swim, cycle and take long walks with family and friends, but tries to carve as much time out of her busy schedule to spend with her grandson.  She remains an enthusiastic volunteer, with a long resume that includes past positions with Girl Guides of Canada, the City of Brampton and the YMCA.
