As one of our Mortgage Underwriter & Client Care Specialists, Anneka is responsible for ensuring that mortgage deals close on time, that all lender conditions are met and that our clients fully understand every aspect of their mortgage package. It’s a tough role to which she’s well suited. “I’m very used to speaking with first-time home buyers, explaining complex points in laymen’s terms, and putting clients at ease—it’s all about reminding them that we have everything under control, so they can rest easy knowing they’re in good hands.”

Anneka graduated with distinction from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ont., with a degree in Behaviour Science Technology. She worked in the field of child behaviour psychology before transitioning into financial and client services where she’s worked for the past 11 years. That second career began as a client care administrator with a top Re/Max agent, and then as a client care coordinator with a top mortgage broker, a role in which she managed everything from mortgage underwriting and project management, to administration and client care.

“It’s very exciting to help clients through the mortgage process,” she says, explaining one of the main reasons why she switched careers. “As soon as I get confirmation from the lender that a deal is complete, I get excited. Knowing that the process wasn’t stressful for our clients is really rewarding. It’s the best feeling.”

Here’s what you may not know about Anneka: When she’s not helping our clients secure the right mortgage product for their needs, Anneka is likely to be spending time with her family, playing board games or planning her next globetrotting adventure. She’s also a keen chef who enjoys hosting big dinner parties and cooking dishes from a wide array of cultures, everywhere from Greece to her husband’s native India.
